Humility is one of the most difficult character traits to personally succeed in for me. Being a stubborn person, I like to think I can handle things on my own and that I can fix whatever problems come my way. However, the day November 6, 2016 completely changed my life. I sat down in a chair and felt two hands rest on my head as I listened to the most powerful and humbling blessing I had ever received. I was overcome with a love from the Savior, and in that moment, I knew I would need His help for the rest of my life. Nearly four years later, I still reflect on my Patriarchal Blessing and the opportunity it has given me to fully understand that I need support. Humility is not essential because of weakness, it is important because it is a constant indication that we know where true strength can be found. The Lord offers countless blessings to those who are willing to find Him and rely on what He has done for the world. It truly empowers souls and gives them true chances to change for the better. I have a strong testimony on the importance of humbling myself to God because I have truly seen it transform my weakest times into my biggest strengths.
James 4:10-Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
