jamaica.

Jamaica is so cool. Like for reals. I have a lot of highlights but here are my favorites. In Jamaica, we saw so many black people who were the kindest people I have ever met and they were so willing to help with everything and also tried to sell us weed brownies once but that’s just part of the package;). I saw wild goats walking around the sides of the roads and even on the roads just eating garbage and crap which was funny. We drove across part of the island and got to see the beautiful Caribbean coast on one side and then pretty rain forests on the other. We stopped at the most amazing place called “Blue Hole” where we got to hike up through waterfalls and such and then on the way back down we cliff jumped into crystal turquoise water that was spectacular. We spent a while rope swinging, swimming, and hiking and then we headed back to our taxi and went shopping for a while. There were also tons of fresh fruits including mango, coconut, kiwi, etc. When the locals spoke, they talked in English most the time, but when they talked to each other, they spoke in a cool African based language that was impossible to understand. They also said “yeah mon” a lot which I thought was funny. I also noticed that their police number was ‘119’ rather than ‘911’ and there were several officers patrolling the crazy traffic areas. Mostly I just loved being outside in the sunshine fully appreciating the beautiful scenery and nature. I love the country and culture of Jamaica.

Love, Lily
